Answer
I am going to assume you meant to use 'about' instead of 'for'. Otherwise I am not sure what to make of the question. ;)If it indeed was meant as an 'about' then, well... it's mostly biological really. Sexual reproduction has been around for hundreds of millions of years. It is so deeply rooted into the DNA of most species that it's essentially impossible to ignore sexual drive.
It is nature telling you to perform your job -- Propagate the species! Ensure the continuation of your DNA!
Obviously, to us (humans) it is more than just that but still, that is where the root feelings come from. Pure biology. Nothing to be ashamed of, nothing to shy away from. If sexual reproduction hadn't been the correct choice, it would have evolved away long, long ago. It works. Don't interfere, don't judge. Can't judge nature. It has no meaning, no purpose. It just is.
Now, as for why sex is such a hot topic in media? Well, you know... because it is so deeply rooted in our being, it is a very easy mechanic to draw people's attention. To get them to pay attention, to look at you. Sex sells. That has always been the case and it will always be the case. Again, no need to judge really. There are more important issues at hand in the world today.
Worry about nuclear weapons... worrying about sex can wait, sex will still be here tomorrow. Not sure we, as a species, will.
